Mentoring Program
The annual Mentoring Program, a collaborative effort between Mwangaza Wa Upendo and Arizona State University, stands as a beacon of hope and inspiration for many students. Each year, this program opens its doors to students seeking guidance and support to navigate their academic and personal journeys. This year, we received an overwhelming number of applications from students eager to benefit from the mentorship and resources provided through this initiative.
After a careful and thorough selection process, we are proud to announce that seven students from the Congolese community have been chosen as mentees. These students have demonstrated exceptional potential and a strong desire to grow and succeed. Each of them will be paired with a dedicated mentor, carefully selected to match their individual needs and aspirations. Our mentors are committed to offering personalized support, sharing their experiences, and helping their mentees set and achieve their goals.
The program is set to begin in January, marking the start of an exciting journey for both mentors and mentees. Throughout the school year, these mentor-mentee pairs will work closely together, building relationships based on trust, mutual respect, and shared objectives. Our mentors will offer guidance on various topics, including academic challenges, career aspirations, personal development, and life skills. This comprehensive approach ensures that mentees receive support that goes beyond academics, preparing them for all aspects of life.
As an added incentive, each mentee who fully participates in the program and works closely with their mentor throughout the school year will receive $150. This financial support serves as a token of appreciation for their commitment and hard work, encouraging them to make the most of their mentoring relationship and stay engaged throughout the program. It also recognizes the importance of their dedication to their personal and academic growth.
The Mwangaza Wa Upendo and Arizona State University Mentoring Program is a testament to the power of community and the impact of dedicated mentorship. By investing in these students’ futures, we are not only helping them achieve their individual dreams but also strengthening the community as a whole. We are honored to be a part of this meaningful initiative and look forward to witnessing the growth and success of our mentees as they embark on this incredible journey.
